Good communication skills, are they important? Absolutely! They are crucial for success in a career and in personal relationships. Don’t you agree?

Not everyone realizes, however, that the building of these skills can start in childhood, and that young people can become confident and powerful speakers even at a very young age. They can be excellent public speakers, patient explainers, and effective persuaders,. Every child should have the opportunity to learn the necessary skills.

On-line training

While special classes provided by local community groups offer an excellent place to learn the tools, they aren’t available to all students. This site intends to provide online training in all these skills no matter where the children are located.

Not only will you find useful information on this site in the blog posts and free resources for parents, you will also be able to sign your child up for a 20 lesson course on The Basics of Public Speaking which is coming soon! It is designed for 7 to 12 year olds and is taught through a series of online videos and a downloadable workbook.

Here, on this site, you will find helpful advice, worthwhile instruction, lessons, activities and games that you can easily do with your children to help them develop their communication skills, skills such as public speaking, reading aloud, storytelling, discussing, conversing, appropriate social skills, explaining, describing, persuading, inspiring and so much more.

Curriculum Support for Homeschoolers

Furthermore, there are plans for more courses and units of study for students from ages 12 through graduation. In addition, a guide for homeschoolers will also be added that outlines oral communication lessons and activities to support the BC Ministry of Education Curriculum from kindergarten through grade three. Eventually, there will be a similar guide for grades four through 12.

Guidance and Support in Communication Skills

This site will also provide guidance and support in a number of other areas such as, how to help a shy child and how to effectively advocate on behalf of your child as well as other communication-related topics for parents that will be discussed in the months and years ahead. This site can be an ongoing resource for you and your children.
